VT – Access

What is VT Access ?

VT Access is short for VisionTime Access - and is a unique P.C. Software and Hardware System developed by MultiTime's parent company, FlexTime in Dublin, Ireland, that offers a panoramic solution to the twin issues of Corporate Security and Time Worked.

This ambitious system for Access Control and Time & Attendance uses an innovative combination of Client Server and Web Technology – utilising advanced Access Control devices that interface with highly developed time recording software programmes.

The end result offers the user an unprecedented picture of both security and time worked – by using either subject to assist the other.

With the use of the VT Access Door Access Terminals, it allows organisations to restrict and also keep track of, the movement of people within and around their premises – from the perimeter to the core. This is achieved by the linking of the VT Access Terminals to the corporate network of PCs, where VT Access Software resides. Futhermore, as well as capturing information at the door access devices, the system can also use the employee’s own desk PC as a method tracking his/her location and movement. This then builds up an extensive real time interpretation of where staff are and what they are doing - at all times of the working day.

This multi-user software allows the security personnel PC access to the door entry actions from the Door Terminals. This then also allows the recording of all such access events to be stored, and reports can be made of this information.

In addition, HR and Pay staff have access to time & attendance records (see elsewhere about how the system handles time and pay issues). The system further drills down to staff level by allowing employees “on desk” attendance entries and with the facility to request time off. The supervisor “electronically” signs off these requests.

Importantly, this ensures that all such activity is permanently recorded in electronic form – thereby building up a total security “timeline” – so vitally sought after in the modern environment.

Features Provided

1. Provides “real time” connection between Access Terminals and the P.C. and/or Server.

2. Advanced rules in-built in the access hardware and the PC software for controlling entries and exits plus movements around the premises.

3. Can relate entry to time shift by denying access if a valid shift is not in the time plan

4. Can deny access to time system i.e. pay – if access device is not used

5. Can ensure specific doors are used for entry by specific staff and in a rhythm

6. Reports provided include - detailed Access Report, Terminal information Report and Clocking Information Report.

7. Can restrict the Number of Terminals to which employee badges can have access to.

8. Can set up Daily Access Programs. This could involve setting up open door access rights between certain time periods of the day and denying access rights after certain hours.

9. Has a module called VT MoTime – which monitors access and aggress of cars in your car park and is also a charge system for parking – see separate leaflet.

10. Can operate using existing P.C. Network Cabling Structure (TCPIP/Ethernet).

11. Can operate using Standard RS485.

12. The Software operates with the wide range of VT Accesss Terminals e.g. Biometric, Magnetic Stripe, Proximity, chip card etc.

13. Using new PIN type Terminal, it is possible to set up PIN Access for employees after certain hours.

14. Single User or Multi-User Environment.

15. Incorporates Photo-ID Facility into Employee Records Screen, supporting the main image formats such as Bitmaps and JPEG’s.

16. Allows automatic Winter/Summer Time Changes and Time Synchronisation between Server P.C. and Terminals.

17. Reports generated can be saved as text files or comma separated files (.csv files).

18. Can provide different levels of user access to the AccessOne Software in a Network.

15. For simpler applications the Terminal(s) can stand alone i.e. not connected to Network or P.C.
