Time Terminals - FINGERPROX+ Integrating 1:N and 1:1 Fingerprint Recognition

Fingerprox+

Now with MIFARE® or LEGIC® Proximity Reader Option

Based on the PROX+F platform, the versatile Production Control, Time & Attendance and Access Control Terminal, it is equipped with an integrated fingerprint recognition module which stores fingerprint templates.

Overview

Flexible: possibility of realising several configurations and of using fingerprints for identification in different types of transactions

Easy-to-use:

  • just press a key and put your finger on the scanner
  • no codes to enter no badges to be read (note: user recognition time can change depending on the readability of the fingerprint)

High Security Access Control:

  • fingerprint recognition combined with PROX+'s powerful controls (time zones, causal codes, and optional PIN management)
  • user recognition fully guaranteed
  • scarred fingers do not affect fingerprint recognition
  • reliable Time & Attendance: identification is no longer based on badges that can be lost or copied, or can be used by colleagues

Protection of Personal Data:

  • no images are stored inside FingerPROX+
  • during the memorizing phase all templates are acquired in a single terminal
  • it is then possible to transfer them to all other terminal
  • all transactions take place in such a way as to protect individual privacy

Best price/performance ratio: easy to mount, TRAX+G is without doubt the most cost-effective and practical solution.

Functionalities

The PROX+ based authorisation list, together with the integrated fingerprint reader, ensure that only an authorised person can pass through.

  • It can identify a user by fingerprint recognition only (1:n identification, suitable for up to a few dozen people), or by fingerprint plus a card reading or PIN entry (1:1 verification)
  • All the usual functions of PROX+ are available: time zone check, programmed access criteria, use of PINs, checking inputs and piloting relays, transactions recording, etc., allowing for an access control system with a high security level.
  • Up to 10 different fingerprints can be associated with each user (typically 3 templates per fingerprint), and each FingerPROX+ can memorize an average of 1400 templates (from 1000 to 2000, according to enrolment configuration and population features) usable in 1:1 verification mode only.
  • Up to three templates can be stored on a MIFARE® or LEGIC® MIM1024 card.
  • The possibility of using the identification mode (1:N) rather than the verification mode (1:1) depends on the group of the users involved. The most appropriate configuration depends on three important factors: recognition speed, ease of use of the system, the adaptability of the users involved. How easy the system is to use, depends on which finger is used and, sometimes, the condition of the skin of the fingertip.

Please note: as the sensor is subject to wear and user negligence, it is not covered by our two year warranty.

  • It is possible to import and export the fingerprint templates (but not the images), without repeating the recording/scanning process.
  • Each fingerprint template size can vary according to the number of features, from 100 to 500 bytes, with about 300 bytes as average.
  • In 1:n identification mode each fingerprint is recognized in 2-5 seconds, with a maximum database of 400 fingerprints, while in 1:1 verification mode it takes less than 1 second. This limit of 400 templates in 1:n identification mode, depends on the mix of users, and can in practice be lower, thus requiring you to use verification mode if you need to acquire more templates.
  • It is possible to delete one/all fingerprints associated with a single user's code. The user code can be from 00001 to 60000.
  • Most of the managing functions, like enrolling new users, deleting old ones, saving/retrieving fingerprints to/from PROX+ files, can be performed from the FingerPROX+ console or by remote commands through the usual communication channels (Ethernet, NET92 and serial RS232).

It is possible to work on-line using a templates database stored on a PC and with verification performed on the terminal, for up to 60.000 users.

Re-writable Cards

  • MIFARE® option : A special MIFARE® FingerPROX+ version uses an iso14443a reader/writer module (Mifare™) instead of the 125KHz read only module. An enhanced FW allows you to store the fingerprint templates in a proximity card (Mifare classic 1K).
  • LEGIC® option: The new FingerPROX+/advant version integrates the new RFID/advant module by TMC. An enhanced FW allows you to store and manage fingerprint templates on 13.56MHz proximity cards (prime MIM1024 or faster ISO 15693 ATC1024).
  • During enrolment the user is asked to save the template onto the card. If he/she agrees, then he/she is also asked if the template must be removed from the internal memory module (this can also be carried out at a later date).
  • When a user card containing a template is read by FingerPROX+ it downloads the template and then asks the user to perform a fingerprint read to verify his/her identity.

If the card is empty and the user's fingerprint has been stored in the module, the MIFARE® and/or LEGIC® card can still be used for the normal 1:1 verification. Random 1:n identification is also possible.
